Cheese Cake

Woman on a Diet
How dare he! He knows all the trouble I've put into this. He knows how hard I've worked to get this far. But he still does it. Sets it right there, perfectly in my view. It's torture I say! Pure torture! Don't get me wrong, I love him to death, but sometimes...
Well it's sitting there, all pretty and dressed up. I know if I reach to move it away I'll only be closer to failing. The temptation is just to great! It's mocking me, laughing and pointing its cherry covered finger right at my face, along with its four-tined friend by its side. It's like staring at sin itself. How could he even think to lay that goodness in my view? It's my favorite. Plain, creamy, smothered with the best cherry filling on the planet, all on top of an extra thick graham cracker crust. Now he's reaching for it. But it's mine! He can't do that! I want to shove the splendor of that huge slice into my face and... No, stop. I wasn't going to eat it anyway.

Her Lumberjack Husband
It has been felled. It had to be done. And who better than me to do it. It now sits in front of my face, perfectly poised, all red and white, awaiting its fate. But how is it to be done?Should I slice it? Take it apart in small bits at a time, savoring the deliciousness? No, this pleasure is to great to be thought of carefully. Yes, I shall do it all at once. I shove the whole slice into my mouth, enjoying every moment of sinful pleasure. I really shouldn't eat it in front of her, but it's too late for that.

Two Voices - Diving Board

In a creative writing class I took we had to write a conversation going on inside someones head with them self. So here it is...

Oh! I'm so nervous! Legs, please stop shaking, I might fall!
Cut it out you'll be fine.
Yeah, I guess your right.
Come on honey, you haven't gone past the first step yet, and there's a line behind you.
Oh, heh heh. Okay, here's one step, now two...oh!  I don't know if I can do this!
Don't worry, look it's only three more steps to the platform. come on, don't let your little  brother show you up!
Great okay, I'm up.
Don't grip the railing so tight, your knuckles are turning white. Just relax now, and walk the   plank.
Walk the plank!?
No, wait, that's not what I meant. Just , step out onto the board.
Oh, it's kind of cold and wet.
Well yeah, you're five feet above water!
Five feet? that's it?
  Um, yeah.
Well that doesn't sounds so bad.
You're right, it isn't. Okay, we're at the end now. Just put your toes on the edge and jump in.
Okay, here I go, one...two...two and a half...two and three quarters...
Oh for crying out loud, here we go!
NO, WAIT, AHHHHHHH!

A Trip to the Lake

Waves of clear blue crash over us, soaking to the core, as the nose goes under our own wake once again. Most of the girls giggle and laugh, but the boys lightheartedly complain that they were cold enough already. The motor whirs in my head and I feel the rumble of it's vibrations under my seat.
I feel a rush of adrenaline as we speed up and watch the next skier take his turn.   He attempts to cross over a wake but a sudden jerk from the boat makes him loose his balance and he plunges into the depths of the lake. As we gradually slow down, I reach into the foam that curls up the side of our vessel. The feeling is cool and surprising to the touch. I may not venture out onto the end of the ski rope  as I had originally planed. The boy in the water is shivering and is helped aboard by some of his friends. Water cascades off of him and puddles on the deck.
Everyone is becoming a bit drowsy, and we decide to leave for the shore. The driver speeds up once more, eager to lie on the sand, warmed by the blazing summer sun. We come upon the beach quickly and our driver cuts the gas. We slowly drift towards the dock, bobbing up and down next to the bright orange buoy, lightly sprinkled with  droppings from the occasionally passing seagull.
As I stand up to exit the speedboat, firm hands grasp both sides of my life jacket and I'm thrown overboard! The cold water tingles all over and my nerves are screaming at me. As I break the surface of the water I gasp loudly and see two of my best guy friends  doubled over with laughter waist high in the lake of seaweed. A war of waves immediately engulfs our group  and no one avoids the icey chill.  Ah, what a day it has been.

Fetch

My tongue rolls over the mass of green fuzz caught in my teeth, and drool flies from the corners of my mouth as my feet pound on the expanse of a dew covered, freshly cut lawn racing the crisp fall breeze that covers my body. I soon stop next to my play mate and drop the slime covered toy at her feet. She picks it up gingerly and swings back to throw it again. I'm a blur, even before it leaves her hand. This is what I live for! My ears flap up and down against my head as I bound across the field. I can't make my legs run fast enough! I see a flash of green to my side, then leap high into the air and twist my body around. SNAP! MY teeth clench around rubber fiercely, as if someone may take it away before I have time to boast of my achievement.
My girl jogs over to my side. I move away to keep my prize away from her grasp, but instead she puts her hands on both sides of my head and runs her slender fingers through my fur. They move back behind my ears, and I almost fall over from the pleasure of the moment.
Just as great as the enjoyment of her love for me is the thrill of the chase, and we end before beginning. We're up again, my tail going so fast it jerks my whole body from side to side. During my moment of pure bliss she managed to steal the soaked toy from my protection. She again reels back. The green ball and I are gone in a rolling gust of wind. If I was in charge, this day would never end.

Teacher's Lunch - Sketch

Here's another scene I wrote for a couple friends at school for our schools Theater Night

Characters:
Jane Anderson: Really cheery and nice to everyone.  Fun to be around. Cares a lot about teaching and tries to do what's best for her students. Teaches English
Alexander Roberts: Happy and Nice teacher. gives a  lot of Homework but knows how to teach well. Teaches Science.
Noah Walker: Young, new teacher. Really enthusiastic, but stressed about his job. Teaches Math.
Ava Peterson: Calm, ecstatic, bubbly, quiet, furious, cheerful. She's always in a different mood, you never know what will happen next. Teaches Psychology.
Anita Tucker: Nerd teacher basically. Loves her job. She always accidentally mentions dissecting or something, especially during lunch. Teaches Animal Science.

Table and Chairs CS. Jane and Alexander enter SR. Jane looks tired, Alexander concerned. Jane Carrying a lunch box, Alexander a paper bag.
Jane: (sounding almost exhausted) Alexander, I don't think I can put up with these kids anymore.
Alexander: (trying to help) Well they can't be as bad as my last class.
Jane: Oh, I wouldn't say that, I have Joe Stitcher in my class!
Alexander: (almost laughing) Aaaah! you have Stitcher do you?
Jane: (slightly frustrated) This is not a laughing matter!
Alexander: (Holds "door" open for her, she nods thanks) (mock sincerity) I'm sorry, I do feel your pain.
Jane: (pushes his shoulder) You don't even care!
(Noah enters SL, Jane and Alexander pull out their lunches. Noah opens "door" and walks in, quietly sits down. Jane and Alexander look at Noah, then at each other)
Jane: Is something wrong Noah? (Ava and Anita enter SL)
Alexander: (overly cheerful) Yeah, you're not your regular cheery self.
Noah: Aaaahhhggg!!!! (they both jump back, Ava and Anita come in quickly)
Ava: What happened?!
Anita: Is something wrong?!
Noah: I can't stand these High Schoolers any longer!!!!
Alexander: Is that all? You are still a pretty new teacher. Don't worry, you'll get…
Noah: No, I won't, I can't get used to them!!
Ava: (trying to comfort Noah) Maybe you should sit down.
Noah: Good idea. (he attempts to sit, although he's already sitting) Wait,  I am sitting down!
Ava: (realizing her mistake) Oh, well then maybe you should stand up.
(Awkward Silence)
Anita: (Acknowledging awkward silence attempts to change the subject) You won't believe it! (Jane and Alexander become interested while Ava tries to help Noah feel better) During Animal Science today, a student found the remnants of a man-of-war jellyfish in the shark we were dissecting. (they become uninterested)
Alexander: Well thank you very much Miss. Tucker for that flawless attempt of changing the subject. (Jane looks at her lunch with disgust. Noah and Ava are now listening)
Anita: Well excuse me Mr. Roberts. I was only trying to help. (she gestures with her hands) I'm sure you didn't have anything that spectacular happen today.
Alexander: My day was uneventful, to say the least. (motioning to Jane) Jane's the one to talk to if you want a story.
Jane: (modesty shrugging) It's not that exciting really. Just another day attempting to teach Joe Stitcher. (a few slightly pull back and gasp)
Ava: Oh, I'm sorry Jane, that you have to put up with him.
Alexander: (slightly laughing) How'd you end up with crutches?
Ava: It wasn't Joe, I fell off a desk doing a demonstration.
Noah: What kind of demonstration?!
Ava: Don't ask.
Jane: What do you think I should do?
Alexander: Hey, a little extra homework never hurt the kid.
Noah: (to Alexander) Yeah, all those reports and essays you assign to be turned in the next day, those never hurt anybody.
Alexander: Oh, I usually give them full credit, or never collect it, if they learn to behave.
Jane: And what does it benefit the students.
Alexander: Almost absolutely nothing. But that's the point. The benefit is all mine. (he tells this excitedly as if it's a big secret) You can almost hear the silence when they're working.
Jane: Why Mr. Roberts, that's horrible!
Noah: (to Jane) You know, he has a point.
Anita: Now don't you go and side with him!
Noah: I'm just saying…
Jane: That's no way to teach Mr. Walker.
Noah: I know, I know. But you have to admit, it's not a bad idea.
Anita: (trying to change the subject again) Have any of you ever had Melany Coleman in your class? She's a jewel. (attention turns to Anita)
Alexander: No, what makes her so special?
Anita: She's absolutely a star student! One day, during Animal Science, she discovered the most amazing microorganism devouring the protoplasm of a particularly agitated bacterium.
Noah: Um, if you haven't noticed, we were going to try and eat our lunch.
Alexander: (Sarcastically, to Noah) Are you kidding?! That really helped my appetite!
Noah: (equally sarcastic) Oh, I'm sure! Just Imagine that poor bacterium being eaten by the…(stops, turns to Ava) what did you say that was?
Anita: (slightly agitated at his sarcasm) A microorganism.
Noah: Oh yes! (turns back to Alexander) imagine that poor bacterium being devoured by the microorganism. I'm sure it made you very hungry.
Ava: (scolding Noah and Alexander) Honestly, you two. (speaking to everyone) You know, there are a few girls in my first class that just drive me up the wall.
Jane: What are they like?
Ava: Well, I let my class choose where they sit because I believe it helps them learn better if they can work with someone they know…
Alexander: Oh, I think I can see where this is going.
(Noah takes out his phone and starts texting)
Ava: Shhhh, I haven't even gotten there yet. Well these three girls sat right next to each other and instead of talking to each other face to face, they're always texting! Can you believe it?! I don't know what this world is coming to. Imagine, three people so socially inept that they can't even talk to each other face to face! (her phone rings. She looks at it.) Oh, I just got a text from Mr. Walker. (she reads it slowly) I have those girls in one of my classes. I believe they're starting to rub off on me. (she starts texting him back, and realizes what's happening) Wait a minute!!!! (turns to Noah, exasperated)
Noah: (He shrugs innocently) I was just trying to make a point.
Jane: So, Noah, what was bothering you earlier?
Noah: (motioning with hands) Those same girls in Ava's class. No matter what I do I can't ever get them to stop talking…er…texting.
Alexander: Why don't you just take their phones away?
Noah: They won't confess that they actually had their phones out. I don't know where they hide them, but the general response is that they were looking in their purse. What is so important that they have to constantly look in their purse? I don't see how they think that's a good excuse.
Alexander: Just like I told you Noah, you'll learn to...
Noah: No, I told you before I can't get used them!! It's utterly impossible!!!
(A school bell rings back stage)
Jane: (Standing up to leave) Well, we better get to our next class.(exit SR)
Alexander: (Stands up and follows Jane) I'm right behind you!
Ava:  better go prepare some last minute things for my class. See you all later. (waves goodbye, exits SL)
Anita: (Sighs, controlling herself as if she has to do something really hard) Back to the Laboratory. (waves) See ya' later Noah. (exits SL)
(three girls enter SL, texting and occasionally giggling)
Noah: (Looks at the girls, Sighs/groans, puts head on table then slowly picks up his lunch bag and walks out of the room pushing "door" open, SL)  (Lights darken)

En gaurde

This is a scene I wrote for my Theatre Arts class, enjoy!

Synopsis:  As the curtain opens, light shines on a castle courtyard. A few trees shrubs and an open archway are seen. Aurthur is carrying wooden practice swords. Both Arthur and Elizabeth grew up in the castle together and are rarely seen without each other. little do they know, they are betrothed.
Aurthur is a nobleman's son, training to become a knight. he has always loved having Elizabeth as a friend, but is afraid they will be separated by her marriage or war. (17 yrs old)
Elizabeth is nobleman's daughter, who is spunky and energetic. She's always enjoyed being Aurthur's playmate, friend and soon to be colleague throughout their lives. She has been secretly training at night and can't wait to best Aurthur during their private fencing match. She'd rather  ride with a regular saddle or no saddle at all, and wear breeches rather than learn how do stuff like make intricately boring samplers and eat properly and politely with a different fork for practically each bite.

Arthur: Elizabeth, I really don't think you're ready.
Elizabeth: Arthur…
Arthur: I don't want you to get hurt!
Elizabeth: (She steps in front of him, hands on hips.) Don't you remember when we were kids? Remember when we dumped a bucket of water on the guards standing on the terrace?
(He smiles at this) And other times, when the whole palace became our playground, and we could do anything in the world as long as we stayed in this courtyard? (She gestures around the space.)
Arthur: (holding the swords loosely at his side.) Yes, but Eliz…
Elizabeth: Things haven't changed!
Arthur: What are you saying?
Elizabeth: What I mean is, We can still do anything.
Arthur: ( Putting his hand on her shoulder) Elizabeth, in a few years time, you will become a Lady, and I a Lord. (Gesturing to himself) I will go and fight for the kingdom, and you will remain here. We can't continue to pretend that, that will never happen.
Elizabeth: Must I become a Lady? (Taking one of the swords from Arthur, pause, she pulls back and swipes down at him. He quickly deflects the blow with his sword, she flips hers around and holds it close to his neck.) I assure you Arthur, (pulling in closer) This is no pretend.
(They both pull back. he takes a simple fencing stance, and she follows. Their swords hit twice and she swipes so low that he has to bend far backwards. They take the stance again. The swords hit twice again and he cuts across at her feet. She blocks it just in time. He pulls back, and she aims for his chest. He blocks it and brings the tip of her sword to the ground. She pulls away and turns just in time to miss his blow for her back.)
Elizabeth: In the back Arthur?!
Arthur: (with a mischievous smile) Never turn your back on an opponent.
(they take the stance again. Swords clash, and they circle.)
Elizabeth: You fight with force, but where is your style?
Arthur: I'm just getting started!
(He swings the sword high above his head and comes down toward her. She easily deflects it to the side and reaches out to grab the hilt of his sword. She pulls his sword out of his grasp and brings her's down, stopping right before the wooden blade reaches his neck.)
Elizabeth: Au contraire, I believe you are finished.
(She tosses his sword in the air and catches it around the middle. Looking at the sword she says,) when you leave for the battle, (she gives the handle end back to Arthur but doesn't let go, but pulls in.) I'll be following close by your side.
(He takes hold of both ends of the sword and pulls it around in front of her so she is caught between him and the sword, and catching her off guard just enough to keep his pride intact)
Arthur: Elizabeth?
Elizabeth: (slightly surprised) Yes, Arthur?
Arthur: Elizabeth I…(sigh) (he pauses, almost regretting his acceptance, he looks her in the eye, she looks back.) I'll be there for you. Just, just be careful.
(light fades to darkness and the curtains close)

I talked to a senior actor last year, and he said I should add a kiss at the end. Tell me what do you think?

Dearest Love

                                 My Deepest love
                           Burns within my own heart.
Makes me laugh and want to cry.
You love me back and hold me so close
to your heart. Many days we spend together.
This is only the start. We will love each other
much longer than we can imagine right now.
My tears fall on your shirt as you help
me through the trials. And your smile
warms my weary soul. You make
me so very happy, and full of light.
                              Thank you for your love.
                                    All my love,
                                       __________

Hold Your Breath

Bad-um
Bad-um
Don't breathe.
Listen and feel.
Hold on just a little longer.
Sink lower.
Don't go just yet.
My head is screaming No!
My lungs need air!
Bad-um

Bad-um

Bad-um
Calmer, slower now.
Just wait.
Open your eyes.
Bad-um.
Breathe out.
Watch the bubbles surface.
Bad-um
Let go.
Float.
Bad-um
Bad-um
Bad-um
Go up now.
You've had enough.
Surface!
Gasp!
Fill your lungs!
Bad-um

Bad-um.

Stop

Time stops.
We don't have to worry about the rest of the world's troubles because they're gone.
No more.
No stress.
No heart break.
No sorrow.
Only peace, happiness, and love remain.
If I could only stop the world from turning,
we could rest from our troubles and worrisome lives and
take time to spend with our families, friends, and neighbors.
If we had no deadlines, no rush, no cares.
All would be well.
We would have time to think.
Time to share.
Time to hope.
Time to live.

Movie Star

The thin blade slipped cleanly between his ribs and embedded itself in his chest. With a cry of pain he fell to the floor. No! I thought. this can't be happening! Not him! Anyone but Ethan! I wanted to run to him, comfort him. Let him and myself know that everything would be okay. But I was only a spectator. I couldn't run to him I'd have nowhere to go. Why isn't anyone helping him?! I thought. He's just left there to die? all alone. Someone should do something! I let my vice like grip loosen a bit, not knowing I had tightened it in the first place. I looked over at the real Ethan sitting next to me. Then I looked back over to the screen. I saw myself run over to him and lift his head as the fake tears started pouring from my eyes. "Daniel!" I yelled at the boy on the screen. My voice booming from the loud speakers. It's amazing how real movies can seem!

Mistaken Paradise

Paradise, that's what it is. Lush green trees and shrubbery. Beautiful clear water trickling over smooth stones on the riverbed. Colorful fish swim lazily along in the current occasionally hiding under a large lily pad with a full bright pink flower on top. the breeze makes small ripples and waves on the water's surface, that shimmer and sparkle in the pleasant sunlight. Massive white pillars tower above us. Intricately carved with the history of this land. They rise higher and higher into the sky. I have to strain my neck to see the top. A shove in between my shoulder blades reminds me that I'm not here to enjoy the scenery. I take a step forward. there are strong men standing sentry all around me. I again struggle against the rough rope binding my wrists, still raw from my escape attempt last night. No, I am a prize, captured by none other than Prince Vincent of Galamore, my sworn enemy.

Shy

I'm always so close. But backing down is always easier than confronting him. How can it be that he touches my heart and runs tingles through my spine without even knowing I exist? he's such an amazing person. Always so nice. He cares about others and doesn't think twice before helping someone. And his smile...what more can I say? If looks were meant to kill, I think I've been murdered. His walk is so smooth, confident and with a purpose. He stands tall, never slouching. He's perfect in every way shape and form. I wish he really existed. But then if he did, I'm just to shy.

Twitterpated

She's in love.
No, it's probably nothing.
Or is it more?
When he walks by,
her heart beats faster.
Her palms sweat,
and she's trapped,
just for a moment.
what should she do?
should she yell?
call out his name?
shy away?
She stays silent.
Just a quick glance over.
Were his eyes meant to kill?
because it may have worked.
could a boy really be that stunning?
No, it's all in her head.
Just a silly little girl's dream.
but the way his hair shines as he flips it back into place...
Would he ever notice her?
(gasp) he's standing up!
Walking closer with every step.
Oh, no! her pencil slides off the table,
she grabs, unable to reach it in time!
It lands right at his feet.
How clumsy of her!
They both reach
His hand brushes against hers as he retrieves it.
her heart flutters.
Eyes lock.
He smiles.

Perfect Winter

There's white everywhere. Falling slowly, gradually making it's decent. Drifting all over the world, covering it in a cold blanket for the night. the flakes rest on my warm black gloves and I study their intricate designs until my heat takes over and they seep slowly into the fabric. The forest is so elegantly draped in a lace of white I can scarcely take it all in. The cool biting wind plays with my hair and brushes against my cheek. I wade through the fluffy sea of my back yard, my toes numb from lack of proper foot wear. I ignore the feeling as my eyes soak in all the beauty of the season.

Right Now

Right here with you , so close and all mine. It's all I've ever wanted. Laying in the cool grass, your hand clasped to mine. Just watching the clouds roll by. On top of a hill, under the shade of a large tree. The world has stopped. We are completely peaceful. Time has ceased it's eternal journey, just for us. I close my eyes and feel a cool breeze flow over my body and whisper in the tall green grass. Stand up now, let's run! Chase me fast as the wind. Dance with me, the world is ours. Just love me forever. Catch me now and hold me close. You've won you're prize, don't let her go. Hold me forever in your warm embrace, and let me forever see only your face.

Autumn Morning

Beautiful, beautiful light
Dawn of new day
Crisp air
Fresh taste
Warm embrace
Calm, sleep has ceased
Bright, bright light.
Peeking through shadows
Cool rush of new dew
Bare feet
Soft breeze
Dancing hair
Floating white clouds
Birds sing
Peaceful bliss
Wonderful, beautiful morning

Stalking

Stalking. Yes, that's what it is. Stalking and nothing less. the tall, dry grass tickles my stomach which growls, louder this time. I fear I may be heard. I slink down lower, my eyes and ears just high enough to see my target through the thick vegetation. I claw the ground, feeling the dirt crumble underneath my razor sharp talons. Slowly, I creep forward, not making a single sound. The antelope's ears perk up and its body goes rigid. One more step and the prairie bursts into life. A small flock of birds scatter in to the sky, capturing my attention for just a moment. Then we're off. The animal bounds and jumps out of my reach but it's not fast enough, and I soon gain ground. The chase is on and only adrenaline keeps me going. Pounce! Claws spring out and catch. They break through tough skin and blood seeps onto my golden fur. We're both down. It's over. And I am hungry no more.

Silent Invasion

The chill of cold concrete seeped through the skin on my thin fingers as I crept further, hugging the wall. My feet barely touched the smooth grey floor, not making a single sound with each step. Anticipation writhed inside my stomach, slowly slinking upward, searching the danger that awaited me. When I reached the heavy door of the conference room previously found on the buildings floor plan, I ran my hands along the seam. Nothing. The door was bolted much to tight to slip my bug into the crevice. I decided to search the side walls of the small indented space. As my fingers touched the concrete I felt a rough hand grasp my upper left arm and twist it behind my back. Another hand wrapped around my cloth covered mouth. Something hit hard just above my calves and I was painfully forced to my knees.

Nothing

How hard it is to think, to imagine such a place,
if everything just disappeared right before my face.

There'd be no rolling hills covered in flowers all a bloom.
No mighty pine filled mountains underneath the crescent moon.

There'd be no beast or creature scattering footprints on the lawn.
No midday, noonday, or sunset. No dew before the dawn.

To imagine such a place is really very sorrowing.
No shopping, dancing, singing, playing, no bothering nor borrowing.

In a world just full of nothing, I wouldn't even exist.
No me to state my name and place, ot persuade or to resist.

To take away all words and deeds and thoughts and all things good,
to accomplish such a feat as that, you never really could.

For a world all full of nothing would still be some of something.
For a substance full of nothing, a something it still is.

So nothing must be something, or it could not ever be.
Instead of taking everything away, lets just stick with you and me.
